Heritage Conservation

Many parts of Tanzania suffer heritage loss due to long standing neglect and undervaluing of historical, cultural and natural items that could greatly enrich our society. LEAD Foundation seeks to identify, study, procure, care, advocate for, and display objects of high and lasting historical value, and place them in a museum to be opened in Mpwapwa.

‘Heritage’ may be anything from a major collection of international importance, to a single item cared for by a member of the public, such as: a rare book; the contents and architectural features of an historic house; historical records, letters, a statue; a treasured photograph of a great-great grandmother; an archaeological site or a very old building.
